vt cheese council 2005 vs 2020

in 2005 the vermont cheese council had 34 members.

  • 26 farmstead producers (some of these also bought in milk)

  • 18 made raw milk cheese

  • 19 used cow milk

  • 7 used goat milk

  • 10 used sheep milk

  • 1 used buffalo milk

  • 2 were organic

in 2020 there are 56 members. 18 of the 34 are still making cheese. 10 still have farmstead operations….
